Currently getting car appraised at carmax. I dont expect much, if they offer me more than 1k it's gone tonight. I think i might cry.

It’s the right thing for me financially right now. She needs work but wont be able to get it fully where she needs to be sooner than 2 or 3 months and my gf just took a job on other side of county. I need a car ASAP to make that happen she needs to go.

What’s the mileage? Under 130k miles and it’s a strong maybe. Even if they offer $500 to $750 you can take the appraisal paper to a dealership and they’ll likely bump you up to $1,000.

They offered $980. I might do it. The engine is strong so is tranny. But rust is worrisome and my quotes to fix have been 1200 to 2300 for that alone.

As someone from the rust belt, I only care about rust once it compromises at least two major structural components at least 50%.
